Save Time and Money When Purchasing Books

Love to read? Did you know that you can save time and money from the convenience of your home? Until recently, the thought of reading an ebook didn’t appeal to me and I had never seen one. I felt it wasn’t a comfortable way to read a book and probably complicated. Like most of us, I bought my books from book stores and used the library.

I was on another website that was offering a free ebook. I would have ignored the offer but the title caught my attention. “What do I have to lose?”, I said to myself. I pressed the button to download and within minutes I was reading the ebook. (The definition of download is: the transfer of files from one computer to another.) I was amazed at how effortless the process was. The ebook was organized very well and the type was large enough not to strain my eyes. I soon was focusing on the quality of the ebook and not the content. I was so excited that I called my son over to see it. My son is twenty-four and he gave me a look as though I was from another planet. He has been reading ebooks all along. Anyways, I decided to learn more about ebooks and this is what I found.

An ebook is simply an electronic version of a print book. The difference between an ebook and a print book is that ebooks are not printed on paper and have more advantages.

They are less expensive because, unlike a print book, there are no printing and shipping costs associated with it.

It takes only minutes until you start reading. You save time by not having to leave your home to buy the book or wait for the book that you ordered to be shipped.

You have the option of printing out the whole book, if you want to, or just certain pages.

The ebook has a search feature. You can type in a word and be directed to the page if that word is in the ebook.

There is no need to buy a new edition as you would with a print book. It can be revised or updated quickly.

Ebooks are tax-free, while print books are taxable.

It’s easier to click the mouse than turn pages.

Ebooks are never out of stock.

The ebook allows you to bookmark favorite pages for instant access.

You’re running out of space to store your books. No such problem with an ebook. There’s no clutter.

You will never pay overdue library fees again.

The ebook can be accessed anywhere, anytime.

There is no wear and tear. An ebook will not be damaged. You don’t have to worry about missing pages.

It’s easier and quicker to navigate than a print book.

You can buy them all over the world. The internet is universal.

The information in an ebook is more timely and relevant because they are faster to produce. Print books take much longer to be published.

Ebooks are good for the environment by saving trees and avoiding pollution caused by dyes and inks.

If you have a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), the ebook can be downloaded and taken anywhere.

It took me a long time until I discovered the benefits of purchasing an ebook and now I’m hooked!
