Save Money Using Vinegar

Do You know what grocery item is cheap and can be used for various household tasks and personal care?  Put extra cash in your pocket by utilizing the following suggestions.

THE MANY USES OF VINEGAR 

1.   Get rid of ants.  Spray vinegar around doors, appliances and in areas where ants are a problem. 

2.   Shampoo buildup.  Add a tablespoon of vinegar to your rinse to dissolve sticky residue left by shampoo. 

3.   Eliminate skunk odor from a dog.  Rub fur with full strength vinegar and rinse. 

4.   Polish car chrome.  Apply to chrome and shine. 

5.   Soothe a  sunburn.  Lightly rub white vinegar on skin and reapply as needed.   

6.   Tenderize meat.  Soak in vinegar overnight. 

7.   Get relief from a bee sting.  Apply vinegar to affected area to stop the itching. 

8.   Help for dry and itchy skin.  Add two tablespoons to bath water. 

9.   Clean fine glassware and china.  Add a cup of vinegar to a sink of warm water.  Carefully dip the glassware or china in the solution and let dry on towel. 

10.  Multi-purpose household cleaning.  In a plastic spray bottle add two cups of vinegar and two cups of water.  For a more pleasant scent, add drops of an essential oil and shake.  I use this solution for mirrors, countertops, faucets and general cleaning. 

11.  Do away with dandruff.  After shampooing, rinse with vinegar and two cups of warm water. 

12.  Treat sinus infections and chest colds.  Add a quarter cup or more of vinegar to the water in a vaporizer. 

13.  Deoderize the kitchen drain.  Pour a cup of vinegar down the drain.  Let stand for thirty minutes and flush with cold water. 

14.  Disinfect wood cutting boards.  Wipe with full strength vinegar. 

15.  Clean a kettle.  Boil a mixture of water and vinegar in kettle and then leave for two hours.  Empty kettle and grimy buildup is gone. 

16.  Freshen a lunchbox.  Soak a piece of bread in vinegar and let it sit in the lunchbox overnight. 

17.  Eliminate onion odor.  Rub vinegar on your fingers before and after slicing an onion. 

18.  Clean the refrigerator.  Wash with a solution of equal parts water and vinegar. 

19.  Unclog a drain.  Pour a handfull of baking soda down the drain and add a half a cup of vinegar.  Rinse with hot water. 

20.  Soap buildup in dishwasher.  Run a cup of vinegar through a whole cycle to reduce soap buildup. 

21.  Clean eyeglasses.  Wipe each lens with a drop of vinegar. 

22.  Remove decals.  Brush with a couple of coats of vinegar and allow to soak in.  Wash off. 

23.  Clean stainless steel.  Wipe with a vinegar-dampened cloth. 

24.  Vanish rust from bolts and other metals.  Soak in full strength vinegar. 

25.  Unclog steam iron.  Pour equal parts of vinegar and water into iron.  Turn to steam and leave the iron on for five minutes in an upright position.  Then unplug and allow iron to cool.  Empty water from iron. 

26.  Brighten fabric colors.  Add a half a cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle of your washing machine. 

27.  Clean the microwave oven.  Boil a solution of a quarter cup of vinegar and one cup of water in the microwave.  Will deoderize and loosen food stains in microwave. 

28.  Keep boiled eggs from cracking.  Add two tablespoons of vinegar to water before boiling eggs. 

29.  Remove lint on clothes.  Add a half a cup of vinegar to the washing machine's rinse cycle. 

30.  Clean and deoderize your floors.  Pour some drops of liquid dishwashing soap in a pail of warm water and add one cup of vinegar.  Floors will sparkle.

Vinegar (5% strength) is an inexpensive commodity and available in grocery stores.  It is a non-toxic, antibacterial cleanser.  Not only will you save money by using vinegar, but you will avoid breathing in chemiicals which are detrimental to your health and the environment
